To help promote the new album from the Editors – In This Light And On This Evening, Sony Music has used an unusual media channel that allows the Editors fan base to explore and engage using Google Street View…
Using a Flash to cleverly extend Google Street View the Editors Street View allows users to search around London using the standard control and find preview tracks from the album using the red arrows. Clicking the red arrows leads the user to a secret area that plays the preview track and includes custom panoramic photographs of the band, shot at night by photographer James Royall. Including real fans allowed fans to connect and talk about the project, increasing the viral uptake.
